Dimensions:
8" H x 10" W x 3/4" D
Set includes:
Frame: 4 sides and 2 tracks with holes for vertical dowels
Dowels (sticks): 20 (18 are needed; 2 are spare)
Beads (balls): 100 (For reference, 88 were used in the example design)
Backboard: 1
Sandpaper: 1 small piece for smoothing
Push-pin sawtooth mount: 1
You will need:
Paint
Wood glue
To use:
Insert 18 dowels about 1/4" into one of the tracks with holes; this will become part of the bottom of the frame. Do not glue yet. Experiment with positioning beads on the dowels to plan your design, considering what colors each bead, dowel, the backboard, and the frame should be to create the look you want. It helps to be able to reposition the beads freely during this period. Decide on and record your plan, then take the pieces apart and paint them. (You may be able to glue the beads in place and than paint, but it will be difficult to paint the beads without getting those colors on adjacent pieces, plus some glues are not paintable so paint will not stick to those areas.) If needed, smooth any roughness in wood or paint with the provided sandpaper to ensure pieces fit together well. Put painted pieces back together. Glue the bottom track with holes inside the bottom of the frame. Glue the dowels into the bottom track. Glue all beads to dowels to create your design. Slip top track with holes onto dowels and glue. Glue top of frame to top track and sides of frame to top and bottom, checking to make sure the corners form right angles. Glue backboard into recess in the back of the frame. Tap push-pin sawtooth mount into center top of frame for hanging.
